Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, but I have been hard at it. Here's 3 new animations. I think I will be done with all the 2-d animation by the end of the month! I still need to re-shoot the stop-motioned toys, but it's nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Last night, Mark and I went to a friend's house for dinner and a tutorial lesson. My friend is an editor, so I am helping her learn DVD studio pro so she can get her reel out. I also had the chance to show my film to her kids. They range in ages 6-12, so it was nice to see and gage their reactions. They all seemed to really like it. But I could tell there were a few slow and confusing places. I am working on ironing those spots out.

More animals on the timeline
I am not terribly happy with this test animation. But I think I can make it more seamless when I do the real stop motion. I am planning on renting a studio for a day to shoot all the green screens. That way with even lighting, the toys will be easier to key. I am still a couple months away yet. I want to have a complete rough cut before I spend the time doing the stop motion correctly. At this stage, I need to do a big re-write to my script. So I will probably be adding and subtracting scenes. I am having a hard time writing for a very young audience. Right now, the script is a little too complex for little kids, and a little too hokey for anyone over the age of three. So that's not a good mixture. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Going to the Artichoke Festival tomorrow, so I get a whole half day off from all of this.
Cheers!

Timeline toy test
I swear I wasn't slacking last night. I actually filmed one of my co-workers giving a talk at a "science cafe". So I had a real excuse for not working on my film. Although it was glorious to come home afterward and just watch TV. But I am back at it tonight. I quickly filmed all 13 domestic toy animals to go on my timeline. I have only had time tonight to start to put in the camel, but I will have more animals added tomorrow.
Goodnight!
